It’s okay dad, you just died

I was spending some time with my father, who was at the end-of-life in a hospice setting.

At one point I let my dad know that it was possible that our true nature is spiritual and that there is a chance that he will continue after his body has stopped working. I also said, “Dad, anytime you want to let go of your body, it’s okay. And if you want to communicate with me afterwards, I will be able to “hear” you.”

We spent some more quality time together that evening but eventually I had to say “good night” and I left for the long drive back to the house where the rest of the family was staying.

During the drive home, all of a sudden, I got a strong communication from my dad. It was very vivid and he pervaded the entire space, in and around the car. The communication was confused and frantic as to what was happening. It was completely obvious that my dad had passed away, departed his body and was now at a loss as to what he should do.

Without the use of ears or vocal cords, I acknowledged and comforted my father, letting him know that his body had just died but he was still himself, and that together, we would figure out what to do next.

Suddenly, the space got calm, my dad (spirit) thanked me and that was it. He was gone.
