Excerpt from Chapter #61 “WHERE IS IT ALL GOING?” from the book “WHEN IT’S TIME” (Rich Nisbet)
* * *
In my lifetime, I consider the two most major, world-changing events, to have been The Beatles and the Internet.
John Lennon and The Beatles were not only a major catalyst for changing music and art on a worldwide-scale, but they also became the mouthpiece for revolutionary new philosophies such as, “Think for Yourself”, “All You Need is Love” and “Give Peace a Chance”.
The Internet, along with Google, Facebook and smartphones, has created the ability for the world to communicate with one another instantly. However, the full potential of the Internet, for the good of humanity, has not yet been realized.
What will be the next major event that will change the world? I don’t know. We can only speculate. My thought is, the only place it seems that it should go is the space that brings science and spirituality together.
The reason artificial intelligence comes across as a scary proposition is because those entities developing A.I. are humans. We’ve seen what humans can do to each other, so are we really going to be building machines to carry out what we want them to do?
Wouldn’t it make sense to first try to understand and find answers for questions like, “Where does consciousness come from?” or “What is the human soul?”
“The day when science begins to study non-physical phenomena, it will make more progress in one decade than in all the previous centuries of its existence”. (Nikola Tesla)
You get the point.
