Recently, I was referred to a documentary that just came out called “Heal”.
The movie went into nine recommendations that will contribute to you living a healthy, fulfilled, and balanced (360 degree) life. Here they are:
1. Radically changing your diet
2. Taking control of your health
3. Following your intuition
4. Using herbs and supplements
5. Releasing suppressed emotions
6. Increasing positive emotions
7. Embracing social support
8. Deepening your spiritual connection
9. Have a strong reason for living
Me and our website, Above It All 360, are directly involved with numbers 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9.
Let’s just talk about number 9 for a minute. (Not the song, “Revolution 9” by The Beatles, but the “Have a strong reason for living” number 9.)
What if it is true that you actually are a spiritual being, timeless and deathless? That means you can’t die and as a non-physical, conscious awareness, no matter what, you’ll exist and be aware of yourself and that existence.
You’ll be aware yourself whether you are in a bad, depressed, painful, unhealthy state or a kick-ass, happy, satisfied, purposeful state.
People who have attempted suicide, and then had a Near Death Experience, sure had an awakening when they realized that their goal of shutting it all down and going into an unconscious nothingness was a total failure. They not only were still aware of themselves, but they now were above it all and could see how ridiculous the solution of trying to put an end-to-it-all was. They all returned to life no longer afraid of death and no longer afraid of living.
The point is, we do not end. We keep going.
If you can’t die and can only exist and be aware, why not make life as cool as possible at all times? Do those things that you enjoy and contribute to an existence of satisfaction for you and others. Keep your body healthy and your create your activities with excitement and purposefulness. You can’t stop living. It is gonna be right there with you no matter what.
Reminds me of that Steven Wright joke: “I lost my dog so I walked across the entire state of Texas looking for him. When I turned around, there he was. He’d been following me the whole time.”
